Operation Room Suites

We have five operating room suites well designed and equipped with state-of-art technology. These are used for conducting surgeries relating to Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Neurosurgery, Urology, Oncology, Plastic Reconstructive & Microvascular, Cardiac, Gynecology, ENT, Cleft & Maxillofacial Surgery, and ophthalmology.

The hospital also maintains facilities instruments and equipment viz., CO2 laser, specialized operating microscopes with usual attachments, C-Arm, Phacoemulsification and battery operated, saw and drill system, helmet system, and endoscopic equipment.

Intensive Care Units

BSES Hospital Intensive Care Department is a multidisciplinary unit that receives critically-ill surgical, medical, obstetric, and cardiac patients; and trauma victims. ICU human resources, bed distribution, and facilities.

ICU Human Resources:

The medical staff consists of consultants, specialists and residents. All ICU physicians meet the requirements needed for their jobs together with significant training in intensive care. The nursing staff is trained for all the intensive care procedures.

ICU Bed Distribution And Facilities:

The department has 26 beds distributed over 1st, 3rd and 7th floor in addition to one isolation room. The 7th floor exclusively caters to cardiac patient and has a Cath lab and a Cardiac operation theatre. Every bed is equipped with a complete vital sign monitor with pulse oximeter, a mechanical ventilator, outlets for oxygen, medical air and central suction and other technical support machines like infusion and syringe pumps.

The ICU is supplied with latest 11 Maquet & Drager-type mechanical ventilators which is equipped to cater to patients of all kinds. A central monitor is also available at the nursing station to show all patients’ monitors with capability to print the patient’s monitor screen.

For renal failure patients, a hemodialysis and an ultrafiltration machine are available in each critical care unit.

The department is equipped with an electrocardiography machine, airway management kits, a fiber-optic bronchoscope, two blood gas analysis machines and fully equipped crash carts with defibrillators. An echocardiography machine is also available along with a Doppler machine for vascular system assessment.

Neonatal Intensive Care

Our NICU is a tertiary level set up. NICU premises comprise of –

  • 6 bedded bassinettes
  • We have an isolation room for septic babies
  • Kangaroo mother care room for breastfeeding and mother baby bonding
  • Counselling room for detailed counseling of patients safeguarding their privacy and comfort
  • Latest equipment –ventilator, incubator, LED phototherapy

Treatment of newborns here is based on the latest NICU guidelines and evidence based practices followed internationally.

We routinely treat critical neonates with prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, meconium aspiration, pulmonary hypertension, and hyperbilirubinemia. In house expert team performs procedures like intubation, exchange transfusion, umbilical cannulation, and arterial cannulation. These procedures are performed keeping in mind the utmost delicate sensitivities of the newborn with extreme ease.

Artificial Kidney Dialysis Centre

The Artificial Kidney Dialysis Centre department has 10 advanced computerized volumetric hemodialysis machines. The Artificial Kidney Dialysis also has seven remote fitted dialysis chairs. Two hemodialysis machines are kept at the ICU for dialyzing critically ill patients.

Reverse osmosis water treatment system provides ultra pure water to all the machines. The system is fitted with stainless steel pipes, and loops for re-circulating water. This mechanism avoids water stagnation.

Infected patients are dialyzed on separate machines.

We have patient friendly dialysis unit. Some of our dialysis units operate at night. This facility would suit employed patients.

ROTARY D G GOENKA BLOOD BANK

We use Blood Component therapy. Using this technique we examine the blood samples and replace components that are missing in the sample. Blood that we have is segregated into various Components. Whenever there is a deficiency of a component, we provide supplements and thus rectify the deficiency.

Automated State of art equipment

· 2D ECHO MACHINE of WIPRO GE T8 model in 2nd floor OPD having Cardiac Auto Doppler, Auto Measure 2D,Smart Stress Package,AFI,AUTO EF.

· ANESTHESIA MACHINE of Wipro GE Model-9100C Nxt in OT having Spirometry with Loops allows continuous monitoring of ventilator status. Spirometry and high airway pressure alarm help to detect blockages.

· Ascan of Quantel Medical in the Ophthalmology OPD has contact and Immersion Technique Compatible also Pachymetry feature is available.

· FETAL MONITOR of BPL in Casualty Department monitoring of fetal heart rate and also the contractions of the baby in this fetal monitor.

Pathology

Open 24X7, most tests are undertaken in-house and the tests outsourced are sent through the pathology department. Overnight fasting (12 hours) is required for cardiac markers, enzymes, and hormone studies. House visits in the nearby vicinity for blood collection are available. Proper quality control protocol monitors the results. The lab has all fully automated equipments for processing the blood tests.

RADIOLOGY

The department of Radiology and Imaging has facilities of

  • X-ray including bedside
  • Dexa Scan
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Mammography
  • Ultrasonography & Colour Doppler including bedside services
  • OPG
  • CT Scan. Most of these facilities are available round the clock on the ground floor

DIETARY SERVICES

The hospital provides well-balanced, nutritious vegetarian food to the patient as per advice by concerned doctors. Consuming non-vegetarian food or eatables with onion/garlic is STRICTLY PROHIBITED on the hospital premises. Outside food is not allowed either for patients or patient’s relatives. Patient’s relatives may avail of the hospital cafeteria services which are available from 7.30 am to 10.00 pm.
